Help Maximize the Impact of IONS' Research and Education

The Institute of Noetic Sciences continues to bring the rigor and discernment of science together with the wisdom of direct inner experience to improve the quality of life on our planet. Our firm belief is that at the nexus of these two ways of knowing, what we call the “noetic sciences,” lie answers to many of the major problems facing our global society, as well as the keys to realizing our highest potentials.

Our vision is an optimistic one. Through the bridging of objective science with ancient wisdom traditions, we hold that the work we are doing today will contribute to the foundation of a more sustainable worldview for the future—one that acknowledges our essential interconnectedness, honors multiple ways of knowing, and recognizes that from education to economics, health care to the environment, and business to science, consciousness matters.

In service to this mission, IONS is dedicated to maximizing the impact of our research, education, communications, and community programs by

Investigating consciousness through frontier explorations into extended human capacities, consciousness and healing, and worldview transformation, often with colleagues at major research and medical centers throughout the world.
Catalyzing new directions in the exploration of consciousness and its applications by engaging in field formation, by stimulating scholarship and professional development of emerging young minds, and by seeding the broader field of the noetic sciences through small grants, internships, awards, and a fellows program.
Synthesizing the best research on consciousness from many disciplines and providing open access to this information through our online searchable meditation and spontaneous remission bibliographies, Web programs on transformation and compassionate intention, and our extensive archives of interviews, articles, and multimedia on consciousness related topics.
Translating our work into tool building and educational programs that reach targeted audiences, including our worldview literacy program for youth, continuing education programs for health professionals, lifelong learning programs at our retreat center, and public programs both on and off campus.
Engaging with and facilitating collaboration among a worldwide community of members, community groups, scientific colleagues, practitioners, wisdom keepers, transformational leaders, change agents, and the general public through our website, publications, teleseminars, conferences, workshops, and retreat center.

Fulfilling our boldest dreams requires that we raise funds for the Institute’s programs. The same kind of visionary and focused effort that launched Apollo 14 can now be turned toward solving humanity’s most challenging concerns, and we invite your participation. Every gift of talent, time, and financial treasure is important! With that in mind, here are a few key ways you can help us to realize our common noble vision:

Join the Institute! We offer a monthly giving program for as little as $10 per month, but any level of contribution is greatly appreciated.

Become a member of one of our Volunteer ad hoc teams. These teams focus on specific projects for finite periods of time—these include but are not limited to members and friends outreach, fundraising campaigns, research and education internships, and events.
