Random Event Generators
Correlations of Continuous Random Data with Major World Events
The interaction of consciousness and physical systems is most often discussed in theoretical terms, usually with reference to the epistemological and ontological challenges of quantum theory. Less well known is a growing literature reporting experiments that examine the mindmatter relationship empirically. Here we describe data from a global network of physical random number generators that shows unexpected structure apparently associated with major world events.

"The Curious Illusion of Consciousness" with Susan Blackmore
Most theories of consciousness, I suggest, try to explain the wrong thing. They may seek some particular brain function, area or process, or hope that the neural correlates of consciousness will reveal what “gives rise to” consciousness. I suggest that consciousness is not that kind of thing. The real question is why we are so deluded and whether we can throw off the illusions of self, consciousness and free will. I suggest that this is not only possible but essential if we are going to make any progress in understanding consciousness.
