Stories from the Heart
This program features remarkable speakers from the IONS 2007 conference who deeply touched our hearts. The collection begins with our founder, Edgar Mitchell, as he tells the story of his mother’s unusual healing experience and then recounts the tale of his own miraculous healing. Van Jones shares his touching journey from being an indirect beneficiary of affirmative action to having his Clean Energy Jobs initiative adopted by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Next, Nigerian Hafsat Abiola shares how her parents were killed for political reasons and how that spurred her to live a committed life of service, one in which she joined in a beautiful partnership with former IONS Board Chair Lynne Twist, who then shares her side of the story. The collection closes with the clear, direct wisdom of Swami Chidanand Saraswati, one of the most revered saints in India, encouraging us to live a more peaceful life. It’s a perfect reminder that peace is possible and that we can each become beacons of peace in the world.
