Joining together their voices and perspectives, Richard and Joan invite you to dive into living presence, coming home to your true self. This silent retreat is a time to notice what's always calling you from the background, beyond all other foreground preoccupations of life and mind. It’s a time to allow yourself to be drawn uncompromisingly into this depth, fully opening to its solicitation.

Retreat’s the time to respond to your deepest longing, which is an invitation from beyond that can ferry you into the essence of well-being and authentic aliveness. It’s the door that opens you into the unexpected—into astonishment, wonder, joy, and deep peace. This retreat offers you extended time when you can attune to your deepest, most heartfelt desire without the apparent distractions of everyday life.

During our time together, we’ll engage in sitting and moving meditation, BodySensing, BreathSensing, silence, as well intimate and spirited dialogue, all of which support realizing our innate non-separateness with all of life. The practices we engage serve to evoke and sustain both psychological integration and fully embodied spiritual awakening to true nature.

Although awakening lies outside all techniques and approaches, the practices we offer on retreat can act as portals that nourish the embodiment of full awakening. It’s through attentiveness, curiosity, and deep listening that self-inquiry and realization are fully supported.

It’s rare during our busy lives that we set aside uninterrupted time to support opening into our fullest potential as both human and spiritual beings walking this earth. Retreat is a safe environment to examine our projections and concepts about awakening, while discovering our inherent non-localization, and investigating whatever may be resisting the call home that’s always soliciting our attention.

We view retreat as satsang, the engagement of living truth moment-to-moment in community, during periods of dialogue, and extended periods of silent sitting, where nothing is rejected and nothing is claimed. Here we’re willing to live in the unknown and ultimately the unknowable, even as we trot about in retreat from session to session, and, by extension, in the world at large.

This retreat offers you an invitation to let go of all self-improvement projects, and to allow yourself to be drawn into that, which can neither be named nor objectified, but which is undeniably your living presence, your true self, which is ultimately indescribable, totally alive, and radically authentic.

About the Presenters

Richard Miller's teachings are based upon a lifetime of inquiry into the nature of freedom. Following a series of awakenings, all sense of separation fell away while working with his spiritual mentor, Jean Klein. Richard experiences this awakening as always fresh, always alive, yet forever opening to itself. Author of Yoga Nidra: A Meditative Practice for Deep Relaxation and Healing, Richard is the founding president of the Integrative Restoration Institute where he leads retreats on the nature of nondual Being, as well as conducts research with the yoga nidra protocol that he has developed (Integrative Restoration – iRest) with service members, veterans, students, children, the homeless, and people experiencing issues such as PTSD, substance abuse, sleep disorders, and chronic pain.

Joan Ruvinsky in 1989, after 13 years of attempts at path-finding, met Jean Klein, who, having never taken himself to be a teacher, eliminated the need to be a student, to have a path, a method, or a goal. At home in these nondual wisdom teachings, Joan shares body sensing yoga, conversation and presence at her center Pathless Yoga in Montreal and at retreats in Canada and the US. Joan has the regular approbations from Integral Yoga, Integrative Yoga Therapy, and Yoga Alliance E-RYT500. She offers satsang and the occasional seminar on body sensing, yoga history and philosophy, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, various Kashmiri Shaivist texts, and iRest® Yoga Nidra, both in French and English.
