Angela's talk will include both the historical and the personal. She was born in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe after her parents went there on their honeymoon and didn't return to England for 36 years. She grew up in Rhodesia when it was paradise and a safe place to live. She will describe the many differences in being raised there to life in the United States, particularly related to education, and how that prepared her for living far away from family. Angela will speak of the country's founding and the journey from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe. She will end with the trip her family took to Zimbabwe last year.

Angela Becksvoort owned and managed the English Rose Tea Room on Market Street for many years, before selling the business and retiring 1-1/2 years ago. Now she is an excellent watercolor painter (I've seen her work so I can say this) and she and her husband continue to enjoy life in Chattanooga.

We hope to see you there. Like all our meetings, this one is open to visitors and is free of charge.
