Have you ever wanted to go deeper with yoga and explore aspects of the practice you have not been able to touch? Have you ever wanted to reap greater benefits than you receive from weekly classes?
A yoga retreat is an opportunity to delve more deeply into the practice of yoga and more deeply into yourself. It is a chance to calm the mind and become acquainted with what yogis have known for over 2000 years. It is also a chance to greatly refine your poses, work on physical and emotional imbalances, and get more personal guidance with your practice.
In this three day exploration of yoga based on the work of BKS Iyengar, we will delve into the 3rd and 4th limbs (asana and pranayama) of the 8-limbed yoga path. We will explore the nuances of asana (posture) and learn ways to work wisely not only to open up our physical bodies, but also to deepen our awareness of the body’s innate, but often hidden, intelligence. Time will be dedicated to the practice of pranayama (breath and energy control) as we learn to go inside and observe ourselves at deeper levels.
