We invite your full participation in building capacity and deepening relationships. Each of us is moving powerfully to shape the future, and we need both tools and supportive community to fuel that process and continue to grow our individual and collective impact.
What is the Art of Hosting?
The Art of Hosting is about creating the conditions for collective intelligence to emerge by working with the principles of participation and self-organization. We will be exploring a handful of social technologies and inviting each of you to step into hosting roles to run sessions based on your expertise, current focus, and learning edge. You will walk away with a deeper sense of what it takes to host meaningful conversations. You'll take away tools, frameworks, and an expanded worldview that will enable you to navigate complex systemic challenges and opportunities in your work, community, and personal life.
We are creating space for leadership theater—for spontaneity, luminosity, humor, and play. We want those of you who are on the edge. The tribal leaders. We are calling for coherence. Come and take part.

About the presenters:
Mikyö Clark is a media producer, educator, and strategist. He designs for impact using film and video, academic & business writing, entrepreneurship, consulting, mentoring, and teaching. He is the founder and Executive Director of Fertl, an Oakland based media production company focused on storytelling for startups. He also works in the areas of leadership and organizational design. He is currently involved with IONS NextGen, bridging the work of consciousness exploration for the next generation of leaders. Mikyö is passionate about connecting dots and making partnerships grow. He is a visionary and a strong community activator who is bringing together young leaders of different organizations in the Bay to create a more creative and resilient eco-system that stays relevant and creates impact for this and future generations.
Valentine Giraud-Robben is a clown under construction, a butterfly by nature, a traveler by option, and a host of meaningful conversations by passion and vocation. At the heart of her work is her passion to create spaces for people to be creative and spontaneous, to engage with one another, to manifest their full potential and to see beauty and possibilities in what is around us. She has been a practitioner of the Art of Hosting for almost a decade and is specialized in infusing dialogue, creativity, learning, and innovation in the daily life of groups, organizations and communities all around the world. Valentine sits on the Board of the Institute of Noetic Sciences and Elos Foundation NL. At IONS she is spearheading IONS NextGen Initiative to engage, convene, and empower the next generation of conscious leaders.
Dana Pearlman designs and facilitates action learning experiences. Her academic background is in clinical psychology and strategic leadership towards sustainability. She uses participatory facilitation processes and powerful questions to enable deeper wisdom at the individual, team, community, and collective levels. Her intent is to manifest a world that is more whole, interconnected, and in alignment with our true selves for wiser impact. Her sweet spot is at the intersection of authentic leadership, tapping into other ways of knowing (beyond cognition) the world, collective healing, and community building in order to accelerate the profound transformation that is needed in our world. She co-authored and published: The Lotus: A practice guide for Authentic Leadership towards Sustainability.
Hendrik Tiesinga is an experienced facilitator of multi-stakeholder dialogue and innovation processes. Hendrik has worked with the Art of Hosting in many different contexts from financial institutions in the City of London and governments such as the European Commission to grass-roots change agents in Egypt and various artists and social innovation labs. He is passionate about creating spaces where we can truly come together beyond our personal and professional boundaries. He was amongst the co-founders of the Finance Innovation Lab and co-founded Natural Innovation. He is also a doctoral researcher at the Warwick Business School where he is researching social labs and new social movements. Originally from the Netherlands he recently moved from Egypt to the Bay-Area.
Simone Tiesinga-Poutnik co-creates communities of practice and spaces for transformative learning & leadership development in diverse environments around the world. She helps people and organizations to collaborate effectively and to find synergy in complexity. Simone has worked with the Art of Hosting in very diverse environments, from connecting civil society movements in post-revolutionary Egypt, to participatory leadership trainings and stakeholder engagement in the European Commission, on co-creating thriving communities in Northern Kenya and Zimbabwe, on collaborative innovation with arts organizations at the COP 15 in Copenhagen and various companies in Europe. She co-founded Natural Innovation, the Hub Brussels, and Tasting the Future. Originally from Germany Simone studied Communication Systems for International Relations in Italy and recently moved from Egypt to the Bay Area.
