Thursday Evening Plenary Sessions
7:30 to 9:30pm
In addition to our plenary speakers we will also enjoy music, experiential pieces, and dialogue during the plenary sessions. The Thursday Plenary program includes all presentations listed below.
Founder's Welcome: IONS' Past, Present, and Future—Edgar Mitchell, ScD
The Institute of Noetic Sciences' founder, Edgar Mitchell, will open our conference. He will reflect on our 38-year history and how it informs our vision of the future.
Opening: Exploring the Noetic Tools and Technologies for a World Transforming—Marilyn Mandala Schlitz, PhD
As we seek to live in our transforming world, we must draw on both wisdom and knowledge to grow in healthy and sustainable ways. Powerful insights and thoughtful direction arise through our individual reflections, collaborative inquiry, scientific breakthroughs, and our passion to cocreate a life-enhancing vision for our future. Let us explore together the tools and technologies we need to ground this shared vision.
The Art of Intuition—Rupert Sheldrake, PhD
Most people report they can sense when they are being stared at or will think of someone for no apparent reason who then calls. And many dogs and cats seem to know when their owners are coming home. Is there a connection? Sheldrake will show how to research these and other mysteries of everyday life.
Using Sound and Voice to Balance Mind and Body
—Jill Purce
Purce demonstrates how to empower our lives through the use of sound to release dynamic energy for physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual healing. By freeing our voices we can find joy and spiritual ecstasy.
